How do I transfer Digital Video to DVD?
The camera has a USB socket, and was supplied with a USB cable to connect it to a pc. I dont want to do any fancy editing, just copy tapes to discs.
If I connevt the camera to my laptop, is this an easy thing to do? I dont want to get any software especially for this, I was hoping that Windows Movie Maker would be all that I need. If anyone can give me any help at all, I would be grateful.
Cheers!
Answers:
How ever you do it DONT bugger up the original tapes!
If you wipe all the precious memories on them I fear your life will not be worth living!!
Get it done soon though - you've only had 3 years to work out how to do it!
When you find out please pass along the
instructions to me
good question btw
you are right windows movie maker will do it.
first transfer the movie to your laptop and then open windows mm and copy to dvd
The best program I recommend you to use is Cucusoft MPEG/DivX/AVI/MOV/RMVB to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter Pro, you can free download from http://www.dvdtoappletv.org/dvd-vcd-crea... , it is easy to use and powerful enables you to convert and burn any video file like MPEG/DivX/AVI/MOV/RMVB etc directly to DVD.
In addition, it has embedded "DVD Author Express" and "DVD/VCD/SVCD Burner Engine". So it becomes an all-in-one DVD Creator. It works great for me. here is a step by step guide http://www.dvdtoappletv.org/howto-conver... , only $29..no other dvd burner software needed.
Total Video2Dvd Author, easy to use,

You will need a software that supports that function. I have used Nero 7.0 in the past without problems. I usually just transfer my video from camera to PC by fire wire. does your camera have a fire wire connection slot? If it does you will need to buy a fire wire card and lead for your PC then connect the camcorder to PC then I would use windows movie maker because its simple to use. When it is now a video file on your hard drive, use a software like Nero 7.0 or something similar to burn on to DVD and you should be on your way.
Your computer needs a firewire card(ieee1394) in it, then you need a firewire cord to connect your camera to your computer via the DV jack. Then use the software that came with the camera or Windows movie maker. I prefer Pinacle studio 9.
