Almost granted on a investigational camcorder - amateur video, short films (for school), friends, etc...?
Questions:
1) I'm pretty certain this is compatible next to Windows movie maker and apple editing programs, but I want to generate sure. My previous Sony handicam refused to cooperate beside WMM, and would only adopt the s**ty included editing software.
2) Do minidv tapes just last 30 minutes?
3) What is the difference between firewire and USB - how does it affect deeds?
4) I need recommendation for a tripod/stand. Nothing super fancy, just something that works and won't collapse and break my camera. $25 max.
5) If this camera really really really sucks, what do you guys recommend. ($350-450 budget).
6) Comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I've be researching for awhile so honest reassurance is nice!
Answers: 1/ The link's broken, so I don't know which camcorder you're looking at. If it's MiniDV you should be OK.
2/ No - they're 60 mins.
3/ It's not a performance issue - you can solely transfer at the speed of the cartridge. It's doesn't matter whether you've get the latest USB or firewire, you can't seizure the video any quicker. Firewire was designed for video verbs - USB wasn't. The bottom line is that using USB to appropriation video often results surrounded by the audio and video being out of synch. Look up isochronous notes transfer if you're interested within the technical details.
4/ Sorry, I don't know what's available within the US. I doubt that you'll get anything adjectives for $25 though unless you're only going to lock the camcorder surrounded by place. Even then I wouldn't guarantee it's going to be steady.
5/ I don't know which camcorder you're looking at. If it's a Sony it's probably OK though! You might want to deem about using an external microphone - can you use one near this camcorder?
