My camcorder wont connect to my computer?

I have my JVC digital camera connected via Firewire to my macbook and its not showing up on the eyeshade. Help?

If you have video surrounded by the camcorder and want to transfer that video to the computer, consequently launch iMovie and with the camcorder surrounded by Playback/edit mode (not record or Photo), theiMovie bluescreen should indicate that a camcorder is connected.

Since you did not indicate whether you camcorder is miniDV, I will assume it is - You can control the rewind from iMovie... You may inevitability to have the camcorder plugged into a working AC wall outlet, too - some camcorders don't approaching to transfer video when they are running on battery... When ready, click on "import" surrounded by iMovie...
my camcorder has to hold it turned to playback mode.
