How do I choose what features I entail form a CAMCORDER ?
and be able to down nouns onto my PC so I can edit the video
What do I look for to be sure I can do this ?
I have window XP
I would fit a fire wire card to my PC if I have to / if that is possible

What you need to do is look at the REVIEWS; not the manufacturer's one, but the customer ones at the bottom.
There are loads of camcorders that game your spec, and you don't need wifi - especially if you catch a DV one.
Any cam with firewire will be the best to attain it to your computer. One that uses mini DV tapes will hold the cost down from the newer hard drive models.
