How to history conference Audio/Video for cd distribution and downloading from website?
Answers: I would suggest taking a diary out from the mixer (most have them surrounded by the form of RCA outs) and hooking them directly to the camera.. It sure would be a lot easier to answer if you could relay us what model camera and mixer.. lots of apples and oranges out there
THANKS FOR THE UPDATE
while the Allen down does have 1/4" copy outs that would be perfect for capture the sound, your camera model have no inputs.. there's a cheesy way around it.. bring an inexpensive headphone amp, 2 1/4" TRS balanced audio cable, and a pair of headset... take the text outs from the 2800 console, feed them to the headphone amp. hook receiver out from the headphone amp and place on top of camera so the earpiece are hanging below the camera.. the mic is just below the lens and the headphone drivers would make a much clearer audio nurture than doing nothing... hope that help!
I was not sufficiently expert to find specs on the JVC, but I tend to doubt it as AV in or Mic within but instead uses a built in mic.
In any event the mixer uses professional output level which are 200% hotter than home audio equipment (+3dbV at 1.3V instead of -3dbm at 0.775v) and they also use 1/4 (possibly ring tip) and XLR. The 1/4" could be home stereo level, but I tend to doubt it as they are designed to interface near monitor amps.
The best thing to do and you have need of to test this, is to put a loud speaker from the mixer somewhat close to the camera, speak 2 feet or 3 foot and feed a voice smooth amplified signal so the mic can pick it up.
The mic has automatic stratum of gain control so when the person stops chitchat the mic is going to increase the volume and pick up the audice, then when the individual speaks again the volume will drop.
This is the speaker phone syndrome.
So test it.
Using the built within mic at a distance from the podium is going to pick up room tone, room noise, individuals whispering, coughing and the boys gymansium reverberations of the walls UNLESS your room is completely dead (curtains adjectives way around, carpeted floors, auditory celling).
If the camera is going to be within 6-10 foot of the speaker, then simply use the mic (test this also) as these mics work well within the 6-12' range.
You know you are also going to own problems converting the image to most editing software (MOD files which are MP2), but if you've done this and own edited before after you can fix the speaking up in post production using adjectives software. If you have access to software beside a EQ you can pull down the room tone and incorporate more bass to the voice. You can also mute out the areas between talk.
Add a room tone track to compress in the gap.
