How to bring back the "picture look" from DV / Digital camcorder ?
So according to my research, shooting with 3 point lighting and a 3ccd camcorder that shoots within 24p with a 16:9 widescreen will do most of it's available job.
and adding a 35mm lens adapter and controlling the Depth of Field will do some more.
plus, color correcting (& filters)in post production should even be paid it better.
now is in attendance anything else I can do?
does anyone know what else I can do to make it more close to film look? is that the best I can do for a digital camcorder to bring in it like the motion picture look?
(I don't need push for such as lighting or shots or camera work. Yes, I am looking for the film LOOK. single the LOOK
so don't tell me what mic I involve to use or what camera I should get.......thank you)
Answers: 99% of the motion picture look is good sets & lighting, apposite costumes & makeup, etc.. I know some guys with regular 60i DV camcorders who gain a more film-like image than the yuppies near tens of thousands of dollars in HD 24p video gear.
That mortal said, 24p 16:9 with a DOF adapter will probably hand over you a very nice motion picture look, especially if you have suitable lighting and do a bit of gamma/color correction in post. Use the cine gamma mode and turn down the sharpening if your camcorder have those options.
3-point lighting is usually used for communication, interviews, talking head, that kind of entry. You'll want more light control to establish the mood within your scenes. Creative use of shadows and color plays a big piece in setting the mood.
Good editing software/skills. If you repress it right you can take rubbish competence film and trade name out that you intended it to be that way.
