Which is better for a camcorder: Canon or Sony??

I plan on buying dvd camcorders but unfortunately, I don't know which one is better, Canon DC230 or Sony DCR-DVD908. The factor I consider are:
- long battery existence
- long life / not smoothly broken
- other better specs.

HELP! I need it ASAP. thankfulness!

Answers:    If you plan on doing any editing, you do not want a DVD based camcorder. Either knotty drive based (OK video quality) or miniDV video based (best video quality) is better suited.

NO consumer level camcorder comes with a virtuous battery surrounded by the box - you will need to attain an extra, optional, high-capacity rechargeable battery-operated.

Any piece of electronic equipment - especially one with moving parts - can be broken. If you entail "rugged", there is no consumer camcorder that will unite that requirement.
