What is the best process to occupation video from sony hadicam to PC?

I've sony handicam and tried to capture video throgh USB & AV cable also, but capture video quality is so poor. next one of my friends advised to takeover through i-Link cable. but i dont have capture device having i-Link jack. pls insist on
