i just get a canon HG10 for xmas and i was checking out the specs, why is the symbol sensor 1/2.7 rather afterwards like 1, is it not a square?
Answers: NO, it's not square. Look at your tv and you can smoothly see it's not square either.
You TV is any 4:3 or 16:9 meaning that for every 4 inches cavernous it is only 3 inches elevated or 16 inches wide for every 9 inches high-ceilinged if it is a newer HD TV.
