I am 14 years old and my parents are allowing me to pick out a video camera as a belatedly christmas present. and i've done a lot of research. does this seam close to a good product for the price? would it work capably for a 14 yr old girl?

I'm 15 (just turned 15), and I own a VX2100, its not a bad camera. The DCR-HC38 have many positive reviews, so I would recommend it.

If you're wondering why I won the VX2100, its because I'm a filmmaker (Professional and Independent) and I use my camcorder almost everyday for professional reason.
If you're just looking to goof sour with your friends and stuff, next by all money, get the DCR. For the filmmaker, this is an alright camera to start out beside.
Also, if your just looking to goof bad, I would sort of suggest a HDD camcorder. Less hassle, trust me. But if you're in this for filmmaking and produciotn, consequently MiniDV is the way to travel.
