Which camcorder?
Answers: The problem near dvd camcorders is that you have the disk right contained by the machine and the laser is CD information as you are filming. The laser runs the risk of slipping outstandingly easily. DVD camcorders hold a 40% error rate while mini dv's have a 3%.
Hard drive camcorders are the best but you own to make sure that you enjoy proper burning software or you risk losing all your information as the complicated drive is like any firm drive and will go berserk if you accidentally drop it or smack it too firm.
You can edit next to the dvd camcorder, you just can't move the camera too efficient while you're filming or it will shift and stop tape.
Yeah, you should transfer to your computer straight away. It's purely a lot safer, I'm sure everything will be fine on your road trip, lately try to put the camera in a place it won't receive bounced around a lot. If your using the camera on road trips seriously, the hard drive would be best for sure.
