You did not mention your video Camera Model. So lets put together a few basic assumptions.
A video camera could be a digital Video Camera or an analog Camera.

Video needs a firewire nouns (ieee 1394). Your computer needs a firewire card installed surrounded by your computer and a firewire cord to connect your video camera to your PC then use the software that come with your movie or use window movie maker (came near XP)
