Not sure just about that model, but I'm assuming "DV" means it a digital video camera.
Assuming it connects via a IEEE-1394 (firewire) interface, do you hold it connected via a known-good cable? Is your firewire interface card good and is the OHCI driver installed and configured?
Is the camera set to playback mode?

I am not adapted with your dedicated model. However, in merely about adjectives instances, you will find better control of the camera, recognition, and improve of use with a Firewire nouns vs a USB.
