Need aid choosing a video camera...?

I am looking for a video camera. I am looking to spend $300-$500. I will be mainly using it to journal rock climbing. Any reccomedations are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answers:    I went cheap, really cheap and opt for the Panasonic PV-GS80. It is no frills and pretty much does video. But that was adjectives I really needed. Quality is pretty good for the price and if you are taking it rock climbing...do you really want to spend $500 on something that might bring back destroyed?

I'm usually lean toward Sony cams, but they cost more. Some things to consider, camera size/weight, battery life(need extras?), accessories(do you involve?), must have features.
