My camcorder is broken can it be fixed?

Its a Sony Handycam Vision (video Hi8). The LCD screen is only black it shows the display symbols but it just collection darkness. I played around next to the menu options but it did nil. PLEASE HELP!! :)

Yes it can be fixed but you would obligation a new ccd that you probably cant even find for that frail of a camera and also the cost to replace the CCD would be more then the camera is worth. You can try first showing it to make sure a cable didn't come disconnected but you would be better rotten buying a new camera. Sorry.

By the route the CCD is the part of the camera responsible for converting pallid and colors into a digital signal. It is not rare for them to be in motion bad.
