I want to buy a different camera?
Answers: For best available video quality, miniDV cassette still is the best. This is true for both DV and HDV video formats. They do not compress as much as the other storage methods. You will need a firewire port on your computer because import the video is done using the DV port on the camcorder orver firewire cable.
Next best are hard drive and higher-end flash memory camcorders. The MPEG2 compression for standard definition isn't too fruitless - but AVCHD (high definition) is not very worthy at all.
DVD base camcorders should all be collected and recycled and everyone should get hold of their money refunded. They are difficult for editing, video characteristic is terrible and the discs lone record 20 minutes.
The flash memory camcorders that are $150 or smaller amount are just toys - so don't expect fitting quality from them unless adjectives you are expecting to do are low-quality, blurry, poor sounding, YouTube or MySpace or whatever uploads.
