digital 8 and mini-dv, use firewire card and capture software. Mini dvd, put disk within dvd drive and copy to your pc. With firm disk camcorders your camcorder should show up as another drive, then drag and drop the files.
Unfortunately you haven't told us the TYPE (tape, DVD, HDD etc.) of your camcorder and as respectively type uses a different method it is impossible to give you a definitive answer.
