AHH! My Camcorder's broken!!?
I have a Panasonic PV GS 150, I let a friend borrow it and then he gives it back and it doesn't turn on. I put the battery on the recharger and used the wall plug in battery to test it and it still didn't turn on. It just made a weird little humming noise. After a couple of tries the little red light on the on/off button came on but that's as far as it gets. I tried the next day and now I get nothing, no red light no little humming noise, I even put the newly charged battery in and it still doesn't do anything.. My theory is the mini dv may have condensation in the tape, but the thing is since the camera doesn't have power the tape won't eject. Is there a way for me to get the tape out without damaging the product? Or is my theory wrong? Any advice or solutions are greatly appreciated!!
Answer: tell your friend they owe you a new camera
There really isn't much that you can do. How old is it? Do you have a warrenty? Try to bring it back to the place you bought it and tell them that it just won't turn on.
The tape should come out with minimal power, UNLESS your friend PUSHED the thing that says DON'T PUSH, then you have a problem, gear stripping problem.
You're probably lookin at $140 to fix it, which is cheaper than a new unit by $120
