Burning DVDs?

I need backing burning a DVD. I just edited video and rendered it as an MPEG. Can an MPEG be burned? We own a built in DVD burner. So what am I doing wrong? This requirements to be able to play on DVD's. We own tried +R's and -R's

yes it can be but it wont convert automatically. some new dvd players play extra formats similar to mpeg but in directive to play it in others you inevitability to render it a dvd. as long as your using dvd rs +/- isnt really relevant . to burn dvd format you may have to download a converter if one did not already come near your burner.
