How to edit, view and burn VOB, BUP, and IFO Format video?
I have a Sony Handy Cam and tried editing a video I recorded, but the video is in VOB, BUP, and IFO Format.
Is there a way to change the setting on the camera so I can record in any other format or at least the same format for all video?
Are there free programs out there that I can use to edit, view, and also burn them?
If so what which ones are the?
THANKS IN ADVANCED!
Answers: You may use the best software I have seen AVS Video Tools. It can convert to/from all key format, upload video or DVD directly to key portables like iPod, Sony PSP, Archos, Zen Creative, and mobiles.
It can capture video from DV or webcams, TV tuners, DVB-T, DVB-S, transfer VHS tapes to DVD, remove commercials, edit video, copy and burn DVDs and video files: AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.), MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, QuickTime (MOV, QT), SWF, DVD, VOB, VRO, MPEG 1,2,4, MPG, DAT, VCD, SVCD, ASF, H.263, H.264, RM, DVR-MS.

You have to buy special software for that.
It's only the VOB files that contain video - the rest contain things like navigation details for the DVD (menus etc). You can't change the format, but there are a lot of editors that can handle VOBs. I don't know of any free ones, but AVS Video Editor is cheap.
A VOB file is an MPEG-2 system stream. This means that it complies 100% with the MPEG-2 system level standard, ISO 13818-1. In fact, usually if you change the extension of the filr from VOB to MPG or MPEG, Windows Media Player will open it. Once you've done that, you can save it off and us any software that works with MPEG files. MPEGLite is a good freeware. I've included the link below.
