HD MiniDV VS HD HDD (HardDrive) CAMCORDERS?

OK guys let me own it! Which one is better and why. At this moment I have a choice between the two. They cost one and the same as offered to me Model number for Mini DV is HDR-HC7 and Model number for HDD is HDR-SR7. There has to be pros and cons to these things and human being its going to be my first camcorder I would like to know what is worthy about respectively, and what might not be so good something like each. Thanks guys for the relieve!

PS This camcorder primary use is to recorde my 3 year old son from very soon and well into the adjectives.

Answers:    I checked out the HDR-SR7 , HC7 and CX7-the one which writes of a memory stick. I bought HDR-CX7.

You can get 1hr of HD video on 8gb memory stick. If you want to play it on TV - only just take the sick out and put it into PS3 and Blu-Ray player. Very convenient. Just approaching HD model, it uses AVCHD technology to record HD video.

MiniDV models use different format to record video - it is less compressed, but take up lots of space! I had MiniDV HD recorder for a few years very soon - it was a valid pain to copy tape to the computer (40gb per hour!). I bought a 1TB HD just to store the elderly miniDV videos.
I would suggest Hard Disk Drive (HDD) type. Actually both are perfect but the HDD type has some advantages over the mini DV type. Fist, surrounded by DV type you need to finalize the disk every time the memory is full (and the memory is fundamentally less, you can account only roughly 30 minutes in respectively DV). But in HDD type your memory is much more and you can download the clips within your PC/laptop in natural and you can edit it as you resembling. Without finalizing the disk, you can not watch your movie taken by DV type camcorder. But within HDD type you can watch it any time (from PC or directly from camera) on your TV.
You can use your HDD type camcorder as lots times as you want. But in DV type you can not use one DV frequent times. Though the seller will update that you can use a re-writable DV upto about 1000 times, but it is practically impossibe. Because, if here is some scratch dot on your DV (which you cannot avoid), you can not use it for rerecording.. And finally, for a HDD type you need not to transformation the DV during a ceremony and miss some interesting events as the memory in a Hard Disk will be satisfactory to cover it.

Personally I compared both of them for a long time when I bought my own camcorder, and finally dicided for HDD type. It was also simply for my son's events like you. My HDD type works fine and I am highly happy next to it.
