Best consumer MiniDV camera (under $1000) NO HD?

Don't need HD as neither my TV or COMPUTER is HD.


Answers:    Just because you don't enjoy an HDTV doesn't mean you shouldn't catch an HD camcorder. You will get much better figure quality from your video if you shoot in HD and consequently down-rez the video to SD when you play it back. For that use, I suggest getting the Canon HV20, which has great looking video and is within your price range.
