Uploading video from sony handycam to my computer?

I have a sony handycam (DCR-DVD106E) and want to upload my video from it to my computer. I have followed the instructions and installed the software supplied. I own Vista, so installed the updates. After i had installed everything i clicked introduction media from handycam and it crashed and stopped responding. i own tried it many times and alike thing happen. i have also tried uninstalling it and starting again and still no luck. Is near something i have to alter on the camera or am i doing something wrong.
Please help??


Answers:    Are you using a firewire conection? You own to use a firewire (ieee1394) card and cord to download video.
