Adding video from my camcorder to my computer?

I have a Panasonic PV-L779 cam corder and would approaching to download the camera videos to my desktop. I hold an older desk top and hope this will work. If not, I own a newer Sony K35 laptop that should work.
Thanks for any assistance,
Rick

Answers:    Difficult since camcorder is an analog while your computer is digital. It would be easy if you have a digital camera or digital camcorder. But it still can be done with software conversion. You entail a fast computer near lots of memory since this process is very resource intensive.
