Converting VHS Tape to DVD - No Sound on invasion or playback?

I'm using a Plextor PX - AV100U converter. Both on playback and on capture I'm not competent to hear sound. Picture looks great. What am I doing wrong? Is here a codec I'm missing? Settings ajustment? Same result with Windows Movie Maker, WinDVD Creator and Nero Vision. Hopefully someone can back. I see loads of people next to the same problem when googling this but no definitive answer.

Answers:    What format are you capture in? It looks resembling you can capture contained by MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4, but are there any others? I've see this problem before near MPEG-4, but haven't found a consistent fix - it seems to be a casing of trial and error with different DivX codecs.
