What open-handed of video camera do you hold and why do you similar to it?
Answers: Panasonic PV-GS65. I like it because:
It have 3-CCD image processing, similar to professional camcorders (most consumer camcorders use one). This means beautifully-rendered colors within good lighting. Low-light reading isn't great, but that's the trade-off.
MiniDV tape. Best trait of the consumer recording formats, not severely compressed close to DVD and hard drive formats. This comes contained by handy for high-quality edit.
Manual control of white-balance, iris, shutter, gain, and focus. Any time a camcorder gives the user the chance to make the statue the way he or she requests it, that's a plus.
Microphone jack. Again, always biddable to have more option.
It's a very right camcorder for the price, as are all the 3-CCD models surrounded by Panasonic's PV-GS line.
I've also used prosumer JVC, Canon (XL1s), and Panasonic (AG-HVX200) models beside MiniDV tape, and Sony cameras near Betacam SP tape. All thoroughly good for the serious hobbyist or professional shooter. If you want, I can contribute you likes/dislikes on any of those as well.
My video camcorder is a Sharp miniDV.
Got it due to copious factors similar to it's the cheapest from all the brandnames at the time near the same features as next to the other brands; and miniDV camcorder is the best media to transcript footages.
And still using it today after 5years since I got it, short problems whatsoever except for some faded aesthetics. Guess I got lucky even I dropped it a few times.

I hold 2 cameras, those are a Panasonic MiniDV and a Sony Digital-8. I am using it for a small business for covering video shooting for any event and tape to CD/DVD conversion.
I use them for nearest and dearest too. For editing I am using Adobe Premier software
