How to upload video into my Mac?
I just bought a Mini DV camcorder that will allow me to nouns video directly into my Mac.
What is the best way to put adjectives my VHS-C tapes into the computer?
I be told I could just run it through my untried camera but that sounds like profoundly of wear and tear on the topical mini dv unit.
Is nearby a cheap device that I can just plug my antediluvian camera into to load the VHS-C video?
I be also going to buy a seperate hard drive of late for the video.
Answers: Caveat: this might be a tricky process
no need for wear and slash on the new camera. if you still hold anything that plays vhs-c tapes (your elderly camera perhaps), then, roughly:
1) connect the audio/video out cable of your old vhs-c camera into your tentative mini dv camcorder (if it accepts analog video/audio inputs. if it doesn't, the rest of the steps won't work). on some models, you might involve female to feminine rca adapters to connect the two cameras.
2) connect the mini-dv camera to your mac's firewire port, using the firewire cable.
3) open imovie or final cut pro on your mac. turn on the mini-dv camera and set it to play mode (not camera mode). hang about for the mac to recognize the camera. set your computer program (imovie or final cut pro) to occupation mode.
4) set your old vhs-c camera to playback mode, play the vhs-c tape on your old camera. if you can see from the vhs-c cam next you've done it right.
this should work, provided your mini-dv camera can convert analog signals to digital video. the idea astern it is that the new camera serves as an "analog to digital" converter.
