A Hard drive camcoder next to AV input?
I stipulation this camera because we record surgeries through a surgical influence that can only project as AV signal, It is connected to a DVD recorder but we stipulation something that can record to Mpeg or avi files directly so we can eaisly store them on external firm drives to save space and time.
It would be bettera cam coder but if you own a similar battery operate device that can perform this function lacking being a camera by it self, that would be a suitable suggestion too.
Price doesn't matter much.

Salam. I understand your requirement. Stick to MiniDV camera, I suggest Canon XL2. It have analog AV in/out and firewire too. For projection to screen you use AV output. For abiding into AVI files, connect firewire cable to computer. The operation can run simultanoeusly. If firewire cable length is not enough, you can use dv splitter to bring together within two firewire cable. One length is 20 meter. Canon has a big size battery for longer time of cassette. So that you can record on to cartridge, project and save as AVI files surrounded by one time.
