How do I set up final cut pro to takeover footage from my panasonic digital video camera?

I connected the camera with the firewire cable that come with it but the system keep asking for "apple firewire pal"

Usually camcorders don't have firewire cable supplied with them, merely USB cables.
Look surrounded by FCPs Help menu for troubleshooting guides if you are using a FW cable.
