Can't play my own DVDs on other DVD sets?
Answers: Professor G
It sounds similar to you used a standalone DVD recorder - like you would own hooked up to your TV (like we used to have VHS decks). I suspect that you forgot to "Finalize" the disc. Finalizing make the disc so that it can be played on any conventional DVD player. DVD recorders don't automatically finalize the disc after copy, because they allow for recording several shows on a single disc over time - (you can preserve recording bits and pieces as long as there is space not here on the disc. Once you finalize it, you can't record on it anymore, even if you didn't use up adjectives of the disc space.) Look through the DVD recorder's menu (often called something approaching "disc management", "system tools", "settings", etc. until you find the "Finalize" command. Once you finalize the disc it should play on any DVD player.
