Moving Camera video to laptop?
Answers: U should connect your camera via firewire port, not usb. Get yours camera software or ROXIO media suite installed on your notebook. startup the software and then connect your camera, turn it on. Your software will detect it and ask you to download. The camera is remote controled from your workstation i/f. Start dowmloading the video as AVI. Then u can burn and edit it. Some software can download as mpg1 or mpg2. the best format is AVI. Roxio can burn DVD on tangible time. Ask the software to do so, then as the camera plays it writes a dvd on laptop.
You will have to 'finalise' the mini DVD first - your camera brochure will tell you how to do that - but you should file that once a DVD is finalised you cannot record any more video on it.
afterwards try it this way
Use a programme call Ulead VideoStudio - you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and put it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally surrounded by the little depression made for it.
Inside VideoStudio you select "Insert DVD" and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the video is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it - append lots of different videos together - incorporate titles/music/narration - make a directory that you can e-mail or upload to 'Youtube' etc. and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player.
