Whats the best (free) course to receive a DVD to sony vegas?
Answers: Vegas can import DVDs, .vob files etc - File / Import. You can any import directly from the DVD or from the files you've get on your hard drive. The problem near importing from the rock-hard drive is that Vegas doesn't recognise that the .vob files are media files! If you return with it to display all files you can select the ones you want.

If you're getting a message just about an unsupported format, try getting a copy of G-Spot and seeing what that tells you nearly the video.
Sony Vegas version 6c and beyond should own the feature to introduction DVD directly. If should be in File->Import->DVD Camcorder Disc.
Note that it may be singular DVD Camcorder Disc; reason - the DVD have to be unprotected. All commercial DVD are protected. DVD shrink should be able to remove most protections and rescue the data to local disk. Subsequently, use the introduction feature within vegas to read the local disk files. I'm sure you know how to respect commercial and copyrighted materials :)
If your Vegas can't do what's mentioned above, you can simply rename the unprotected vob files in your local disk to .mpeg extension. That usually works. You should see stream processing during ripping to unselect the unwanted multiple languages or subtitles.
first, you can use "E.M. Easy DVD Copy"
later ,you can use "total video converter"
