Sd card and camcorder support?

I am getting a small camcorder. The tapeless kind. Some of the camcorders I see sais that it have a small amount of built in memory already contained by the camera. It also said that there is an preference for a sd card which I am going to get since I am going to video journal with it. How do i capture it so that the videos stir on the memory card so i can just put the card into my computer instead if the video being stored on the memory built within the camcorder? I have not gotten the camcorder however so if anyone has one that also have this option please explain it to me how you do it.

Answers:    It depends on the camcorder...within are so many of the tapeless camcorders. You can probably download - for free - an electronic copy of the users guide from the manufacturer's website.
