I have a MiniDv camera and it didn't come beside any type of cable to hook up to the computer to get files from it. Can this be done? What manner of cable do i need to ask for? Do i call for a special type of software too?

Answers: FYI, there are no files on miniDV cartridge. unlike still photos which are stored as jpeg files that are downloaded ready to use as if coming stale a hard drive. your video comes into the computer as a stream of background, something akin to internet streams. you need a occupation program to convert the stream into AVI files that are then stored on the not easy drive. depending on your computer, the firewire port and a capture program may hold been included.
You will want to buy a firewire cable. Go to Radio Shack take the camera they will hook you up.
