and by "scan," i hope you mean something more close to "transfer" or "download"
Anyway- the flip camcorder has a USB stick, that "flips" out of the side, so you never lose it, or own any messy cables to matter with.

You question confuses me a little- because you say aloud pictures=camera and camcorder=video.
If you want a good diigital camera- explicitly very glib to use, try cannon brand (I got one for my mother, who is over 50, and she loves it- merely takes the SD card to CVS to print the photos). If you are for a moment more tech savy you can try Olympus brand cameras (they have great feature, and are also faily easy to use). And the plus just about Olympus, is that even the cheap ones come with a lithium-ion rechargable mobile. This means you don't enjoy to worry in the order of having replacement battery with you at adjectives times. If you want a digital camera for photos, and not a digital camcorder for videos after go to best buy and pick up one fo the two mentioned brands on public sale for about $150 right immediately. The extra 50 is worth the quality.
