Have a JVS camcorder. uploaded the vid to my comp. save it, but in a minute it won't play bc it isn't a "vid file"

But when I go to Properties, it say it's a "Windows Media (TM) Video File" so why won't it play? Am I saving it the wrong agency. This is the first time I have done this. Please minister to : )

Answers:    first we need to know what the database extension is. in window (xp) go to "tools > folder option > view" then uncheck "covering file extensions" next go check the profile & you'll see its extension. post it here

wmv should play in win medium players just fine. try right clicking on the record > open near > windows medium player.
if it doesn't work try the free vlc player from www.videolan.org

another possibility is it wasn't fully transferred to your pc. try copying it again from your cam
