Can you connect a Canon Mini DV beside a firewire cable to the computer that have a Firewire port? If so, how?

My Camcorder: Mini Canon DV NTSC ZR40
My Computer: Windows XP has Windows Movie Maker
My Firewire Cable: Belkin 6-pin to 4-pin FireWire Cable

Answers:    Connect the camera to the PC near the Firewire cable.

Start Windows Movie Maker

Turn on your camera with the cartridge inserted and switch it to VCR mode (usually shares the switch with the story switch)

Windows should recognize the camera and ask you what to do beside it.

In Windows Movie Maker, click File-->Import from Camera

Follow the steps and you should be able to appropriation it!
You can if your PC has a 6 pin Firewire aka iLink and IEEE1394 port. Connect the 4 pin side to the dv port of the camcorder and the 6 pin side to the PC 6 pin port.
