My fire line will not fit contained by my mac, how do i bring back it to fit?

i have a 3 year outmoded mac and a mini handycam. we bought i.link and it doesnt fit into any of the plug-ins. some assistance?

Answers:    For one, make sure you hold a cable for the correct ports. Your camera uses a 4-pin port, but the computer likely have a 6-pin port (if any at all). The 6-pin port is longer and has more of a pentagonal shape.

EDIT: By the method, iLink, Firewire, DV, and IEEE1394 are all EXACTLY alike thing by different name. Different companies call it different things, that's adjectives. A Firewire cable will work in a port labeled "iLink," for example.
If it don't fit, consequently it ain't gunna fit. Sorry.

:(
Are you using a 4pin to 6pin i-link (Firewire) cable - thats what you need - 4 pin on the camcorder - 6pin on the mac

...
You have need of a 4-6 pin FW like this one from Amazon.com

I'm curious, which type of iLink did you buy?
Do you hold a firewire cord? It didn't come with yoiur camera, you enjoy to purchase it.
