Camcorder beside excellent freeze frame?

Does anyone know of a camcorder that produces excellent freeze frame results?

Answers:    It really depends on what you are recording, and what you want to engineer the freeze frame of. A couple of considerations:

Resolution:
Standard definition camcorders have a resolution of 576pixels by 720, this is approx .4 of a megapixel, so fine for net use, not much use for anything else.
High Definition camcorders have resolutions up to 1920x1080, approx 2 megapixels, so much more resembling it.

If you are recording a moving subject later you will want a camera which allows to to set a higher shutter speed, by failure to pay most video is shot at 1/50th of a second frame rate, this will blur most moving objects, if you are doing sports you may want as high as 1/1000th shutter, probably higher if you are using the zoom.

To use hurried shutters you will need a bright lens.

You may also want a camera that supports progressive scan cassette rather than deinterlaced footage, as this should prevent combing (an artefact of movement between the two scan of every frame in conventional video) However not adjectives camcorders can shoot progressive at all shutter speeds.

So surrounded by short, I would definately get a dignified def camera, one with brochure control over the shutter, the ccd based a bit than CMOS camcorders seem to act better in lower feathery, so you are looking at something like a Sony FX1 as a starting point, if you want progressive next you are looking more at a Panasonic HVX200. These are expensive options, but within the absence of any other info....
