JVC video camera?

what does blank search aim?and how do you tape over something else or delete a cartridge

Answers:    I believe that "blank search" makes the camera rummage through for the next blank spot on the cartridge. The camera then stops at this point, prepared to continue record at that spot. It might not be EXACTLY at the spot, but it should be a fraction of a second at most.

To tape over something else, in recent times rewind the tape to what you want to text over, and start recording from that point. It should erase the matured recording and account the new one over it.

To delete a cassette, rewind all the route to the beginning, put the lenscap on, cover up the mic (or insert a unconscious plug into the mic jack), hit record, and hang around until you're at the end. This seem like unnecessary wear and shred on the camera's heads, but if you want to do it, shift ahead.
