Has anyone have a concrete drive crash and die on their HDD camcorder?

I'm looking at buying a Sony camcorder, and I've narrowed it down to the HDR-CX6 (Memory stick) or the HDR-SR7 with 60GB tricky drive. But will the HDD still be working in 5 year's time? Are these (expensive) camcorders throw-away items? And how adjectives are camcorder HDD crashes?

Any info and experience with these things is appreciated.

Answers:    surely, you have to dispatch it off and enjoy a hard drive replaced. It will cost you roughly $300
