Hd an added plus if possible. i can spend anywhere from a regal to MAYBE a grand and a partly if the camera is really good. appreciate any suggestions.

Answers:    The Canon HV20 is a compact camcorder near HDV (high-def miniDV), 10X zoom, manual focus and white match (via menus and dials), 16:9 and 24p, for around $700. It is very popular among budget indie filmmakers in a minute. While it does give you guide control over most things, it is a little awkward and time-consuming to adjust such settings via its menus and tiny buttons.

More professional cameras use steadfast physical controls like rings and switches so that these functions can be vigorously easily in synch while shooting, but obviously these cost closely more. The cheapest camera with dutiful manual controls would be something resembling a Canon GL2 at around $2000 new. It is a miniDV camera, not dignified definition, and it is not native 16:9 or 24p. The Canon XH-A1 have all of those things (and more) contained by high definition at around $3500.

Don't forget that a apt camera is only one tiny constituent of making good films. Good actor, a script, directing, lighting, blocking, sets, costumes/makeup, and good nouns and music are all recurrently overlooked by newcomers, but are far more major than the image part of the camera.
