Answers:    A DV cable is a Firewire cable. They're commonly available in electronics stores. You'll call for either a 4-pin-to-6-pin revision, or a 4-to-4 version. Depends on what description of Firewire port your computer has, if any. Your camera have a 4-pin port (I'm nearly 100% certain that adjectives JVC camcorders use a 4-pin port).

As for the core filters, they're roughly not essential. Here's a topic about it, not sure if the join will still be live though:

If your computer does not have a Firewire port, you'll inevitability a Firewire card to install, which is available at just nearly any computer store.
