Camcorder Microphone?

What's a good camcorder microphone for a MiniDV Camcorder? I'm getting a Canon ZR800 if that help and I'm willing to progress up to $200. I'm filming some home video but I want a crisp and amplified sound. Anyone own a product that they've heard is good/ can reccomend?

Answers:    Movies are usually shot using shotgun mics on a boom. The correct positioning of the mic and skill of the boom and audio operator makes a bigger difference to the nouns quality than the part of the mic itself.

You can buy or make a boom pole relatively inexpensively but you have need of a person who can hold it steady, and another creature who has some practice near setting the audio levels. Ideally the back of the microphone should should be as close to the actor's mouth as possible without one visible surrounded by the frame. You should have the camera within manual audio level and make sure the audio never go above -12dB or so. You should also have somebody monitoring the audio on earphones because many things can dance wrong that are not immediately perceptible until you listen carefully.

I've hear good things just about the Rode Videomic (for the price):
