Does anyone know what is the slimmest compact camera you can buy?
Answers: That depends on how sophisticated you want it. The Canon Ixus range (digital and film) are pretty small and fit in a shirt pocket. There are thinner ones, but lacking so many features.
Not too sure what the slimmest might be. You might check out some review sites such as www.cnet.com, www.pcmag.com, and www.pcworld.com. I really similar to my Canon Powershot SD600. I bought it because it is very small and can fit into a pocket definite easy. It also take excellent pictures. The Canon Powershot cameras are usually rated pretty lofty.
as reviewed at this site ..."Panasonic Introduces Lumix DMC-FX30, World's Slimmest Digital Camera With 28mm Wide Angle Lens"
The Canon Powershot SD1000 is only 3/4 " (19.4 mm) gelatinous. It would be hard to whitewash that, espcially while maintaining standard images.
The Panasonic DMC-FX30 is 22 mm tacky, so it's not the world's slimmest camera, regardless of what the press release say.
This isn't the best way to choose a camera.
The deeply slimmest cameras will have a fixed elemental lens which will give you rubbish competence.
You need to compromise between size and function.
If compact is the utter theme later look at the Canon IXUS range or the Ricoh Capilio R6 & R7.
Both bestow good picture quality surrounded by a compact case, the Ricoh have the far better zoom, there is a review contained by this weeks amateur photographer.
