I turned on my D70 and the eyeshade showed F---- and blinked. Did this for 40 second next reset. Why?
Answers: I read somewhere that the error may mean that the camera think a "non-CPU equipped" manual lens have been attached. Check/clean the contacts on the lens and camera body, because at hand might be something stuck in nearby. I've heard a pencil eraser works pretty very well.
Also, one of my friends had a lens that stopped working on his D70 because a small piece of plastic on the lens' flipside chipped or broke off, so check the lens and see if there's a small piece of plastic that's be chipped off or broken. We're discussion very small similar to a few centimeters square.
The camera should be fine.
Fully charge your batteries, whip your lens off and posterior on and then try again. I enjoy a D100 with over 180,000 shutter cycles and it is still working fine.
I draw from weird things come to pass from time to time when I use certain lenses. Re-mounting them usually solves the issue
