Are here any appropriate resources for trial SLR owners on the net?
Answers: www.dpreview.com have been a great resource for answers to an assortment of questions I've have over the years and they have a drastically active nikon forum.
www.nikonians.org (or is it org) have also been a apt resource but I don't visit it as frequently.
If you're looking for lens reviews also check out www.slrgear.com which have what I consider the most complete and concise online reviews of SLR lenses bar none. If someone does know of a comparable site, I'd similar to to know of it as well since slrgear have not tested all the current lenses.
As for technique... very well I've either bought books for the manner of photography I'm interested in or asked question on the forums.
Another good resource are local photography clubs where on earth you can get worthy feedback on your technique, gear you might be interested in, as all right as your results (pictures you've taken).
Last but not least if you own a local friend with impossible to tell apart interest, then you can both swot from each other as resourcefully as drive each other to steal better pictures.
I regularly (every couple of months) meet next to a friend for a day of shooting and enjoy photo challenge. We pick an interesting location, turn there for a Saturday or Sunday, choose a standard subject/topic to shoot there and walk our own way for more or less an hour or two. We meet again afterwards (usually lunch) to review respectively other's shots (we bring a laptop) then even help yourself to each other to the places where on earth we took the pictures and share the details to learn from respectively other.
HTH.
