Answers: Like most cheap cameras, that camera has a small (1/2.5") sensor. If you want a better camera, I'd recommend getting one beside a larger sensor (1/1.7") like the Fujifilm Finepix F10.
I purchased a cannon sd1000 a few months ago I love it, take awesome pics.
The best brands for digital cameras are usually Cannon and Fuji.
Usually the flash in gloom rooms on most digital cameras doesn't look great.
