all depends what brand of camera you own. I for example, have a sony. adjectives you have to do is plug surrounded by a usb looking cable from the camera to the computer and then you turn to windows explorer, and look for the camera (which is usually drive d or e). From at hand, copy and paste the files from your camera to computer.
I've also have a canon camera. That ones requieres you to install their software which automatically detects whenever you plug your camera into your computer. From there, a special program open up where you can verbs all of your pics from camera to computer from reporters of a button.
Luis is right! I have a Canon & a Kodak. Both of mine come with software. You stipulation the cable & generally you necessitate the SW too. If you don't have any, the cable can be picked up at Staples or any computer store (I think even Wally World).
The SW can be downloaded from their website for free.
PCs usually come pre-loaded beside Photo SW as well. Mine have Correl and some MS programs. If you go into "Start", "My Computer" & "My Documents", "My Photos" is a folder that you can retrieve to as well. If it's a MAC, I'm sure that it have similar capabilities!

Instead of installing software and messing around with cable and draining your camera's batteries....gain a USB 2.0 memory card reader and just plug it into the computer. From in that, just put the memory card from the camera into the reader. The computer will detect the card and allow you to copy/paste or drop/drag the pictures from the card to the computer. Much, much simpler and there's no special software needed.
