Canon XTi and Lens's?
All I own now is a 17-55 mm lens.
I want a angelic macro lens for taking good close ups, HOWEVER, I want one next to an Image Stabilizer in it!
Which Lens do you reccomend?
Answers: You indicate the 18-55. The EF-S 17-55 f2.8 does have an IS, but I doubt you enjoy this one because this cost about $950 or so.
Macro lens and IS lens doesn't usually comes within one package.
One of the best macro lens is the Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro. You might also want to rob a look at the EF-S 60mm f2.8 - at this kind of aperture you usually don't necessitate an IS for these lens.
If you want IS... well you requirement to think what character of photography you want to get into - but on a swift search I don't see any macro lens beside an IS - which makes sense anyway because usually ancestors do macro photography on a still objects (or at least an insect) where on earth we don't move our camera too often - unblemished for a tripod setup.
My advice... grasp one of the two lens I mentioned above and a good tripod.

I know its not a DSLR but most of them can focus in good health under a foot because they are so small.
What I want to know is what do you consider a close up. Are we conversation close up portraits or are we trying to see the detail in an insect walking by?
Look into a Tamron 18-250 f/3.5 Macro zoom, I get one with my XTi and it is awesome lens.
